Checkpoint English is a practice app for commercial drivers. This page explains what the app collects and why.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and preferred language, so you can sign in and get notes in your language.
- Practice data: the text of your spoken answers, scores, sign results, and session notes. This is what the readiness score is built from.
- Microphone and speech recognition: your voice is turned into text on the phone where the device supports it. Audio recordings are not stored by us. Only the text of your answer is sent to our server for grading.
- Motion: the app checks whether the phone is in a moving vehicle so it can switch to hands-free Cab Mode. Location is not collected.
How we use it
To run drills, grade answers, show your progress, and, if your fleet enrolled you, show your safety manager your readiness score and practice history. Answer text may be processed by an AI model provider to produce grades and notes. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Deleting your data
Email privacy@checkpointenglish.com from your account email and we delete your account and practice history within 30 days.
